At the age of 14, Maria moved from Bogota, Colombia to Bellingham, where she would eventually launch her real estate career. She began working at RE/MAX of Whatcom County in 2010, focusing on helping hundreds of local homeowners manage through the financial crisis of the Great Recession. Maria became passionate about standing up for homeowners helping them avoid forced foreclosures by negotiating hundreds of short-sales. She became acutely aware of the struggles homeowners experienced when they couldn’t make their mortgage payments, and she remained determined to help people protect their investments.
After the market recovered, Maria became a traditional agent and marketing expert for one of the largest RE/MAX teams in Bellingham. She later spent 2 years as a senior agent at Redfin, helping almost 100 buyers find homes.
When Maria has free time, she enjoys cooking, hiking, reading, and spending time with family.
